Stefano Manfredi brings a taste of Italy to Treasury.
Treasury Casino and Hotel has announced that the unrivalled master of Italian Cuisine, Chef Stefano Manfredi, will take diners on a culinary journey through the regions of Italy at their Italian Alfresco Feast on Friday 25 May.

Chef Manfredi will indulge diners at the event with a gastronomic selection of traditional Italian fare, inspired by over 19 years as a restaurateur and cook. Known for his passion for local and sustainable seasonal produce, Chef Manfredi brings to the table a wealth of experience in Italian Cuisine, having shared his knowledge through 4 books, numerous television appearances both locally and overseas, and a weekly food column in the Sydney Morning Herald. Rounding out his talents, he has also developed the successful coffee brand Espresso di Manfredi by Piazza D’Oro, and the Ceramica Di Manfredi porcelain dining range.

Chef Manfredi will be on hand to chat to diners about his selections for the menu, and the origins of some of the produce, as Treasury celebrates Queensland’s Italian Week 2012. Stephens Lane will transform into a traditional Italian laneway for the event, with diners treated to an authentic night of themed entertainment in a spectacular setting and, of course, Italian Cuisine.

About the Accademia Italiana della Cucina
The name Accademia was not casually chosen when men sensible to every kind of elevated culture decided to found the Accademia Italiana della Cucina as a response to Orio Vergani's painful outcry uttered in the '50s regarding the civilisation of the table: "Italian cuisine is dying".

These men immediately understood that they - representatives of the Italian "intelligentsia" of the period - were to face the task, almost a moral obligation, of taking immediate action in order to protect a cultural patrimony of crucial importance: that of the Italian gastronomical heritage, which went, and goes, hand in hand with the history, tradition, new tendencies, and identity of a people.
